The UMG 96RM-E is designed to measure and calculate voltage, current, power (kWh), harmonics, distortion factors (THD) etc.

The device can now communicate via BACnet - the standard for open communication at the control and management level in buildings - alongside Ethernet, Modbus and numerous other field bus protocols. The existing Ethernet connection serves as the physical interface. The advantage in this is that the device will be treated as a BACnet object, so as a logical unit. This means that all of the information, for example, about a voltage does not only include the numeric value, but is also includes information such as the physical unit, name and description of the measuring point, installation location and the type of the measurement value sensor or threshold values.

The power analyser UMG 96RM-E was designed for use in the areas of building installations, distribution systems (MDB), data centres, machine level and main distribution systems. Records of load profiles for energy management systems (e.g. in accordance with ISO 50001) as well as measurement of energy consumption for cost centre analyses are an integral part. The continuous sampling at 21.33 kHz (50 Hz) or 25.6 kHz (60 Hz) provides the measured values at high resolution levels and also offers an effective tool for troubleshooting and for monitoring power quality in the energy management area. The two analogue inputs can be used for residual current monitoring (RCM). As a special feature, the fault current limit threshold can be dynamically calculated in relation to the total power.

The building automation user has a versatile measurement device and universal tool thanks to the BACnet certification and this also guarantees adequate compatibility and thus simple integration into the BACnet environment!
