Investments in the Lahnau Site
The focus of the meeting was Janitza’s continued development at its Lahnau site, with plans to consolidate its current locations in Lahnau and Wetzlar into a single site in Lahnau. This will require additional space, new buildings, and a reliable local infrastructure.
“As a technology company, we’re not only focused on today’s needs, but also on tomorrow’s challenges. Modern site development is a key factor for success,” said Martin Truthe, Head of Supply Chain Management at Janitza.
Even today, it's clear that the current transport infrastructure is reaching its limits. That’s why local investments are needed to enable long-term growth – investments that would also benefit the entire industrial region.

Politics as a Partner for Business
During the 90-minute meeting, Hesse’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Kaweh Mansoori, expressed his openness to the concerns of Janitza and the municipality of Lahnau. He sees his role as an “enabler of opportunities” and wants to work with businesses and municipalities like Lahnau to develop solutions that strengthen local economies.
“We need investments – now, not someday. For me as Minister of Economic Affairs, this is a top priority,” said Mansoori.

Mayor Christian Walendsius and Bundestag member Dagmar Schmidt also emphasized the importance of a reliable infrastructure for the region. “A powerful infrastructure is not only essential for a single company – it strengthens the entire economic area of Central Hesse,” Schmidt stated.

The exchange in Lahnau made it clear that politicians at the federal, state, and local levels want to work together toward a common goal. “We all see the potential – now it’s time to work together to create the conditions that will allow us to realize that potential,” summarized Markus Janitza, Managing Partner of the company.

Janitza Continues to Expand Its Presence in Lahnau
Janitza has seen strong growth in recent years and, as of March 2025, has surpassed 500 employees. In 2024, the company launched the largest single investment in its history – approximately €30 million – for the construction of the “Factory of the Future” in Lahnau. This major expansion of production and office space will create an additional 300 jobs in the region.
