Janitza Celebrates 40 Years of Growth and Showcases New Future Factory
Forty years after its founding, Janitza continues its growth journey. At the company's anniversary forum, the spotlight was on the new Future Factory—and on one key question: How can SMEs remain successful and competitive?

Janitza marked its 40th anniversary on June 19 with a special anniversary forum at its headquarters in Lahnau, Germany. One of the highlights of the event was the first guided tour of the company's new Future Factory. Covering more than 4,500 square meters (approximately 48,400 square feet) of additional production and office space, the new facility represents the largest investment in Janitza's history.
Opening the event, Janitza Chief Executive Officer Alexander Veidt shared the company's ambitious growth strategy with approximately 70 invited guests. The company aims to double its business by 2030. "We have one clear objective: staying close to our customers. Intelligent energy management is a global priority today," said Veidt.
Founder and shareholder Markus Janitza emphasized the company's passion for developing world-class electrical measurement technology. "We have increased our workforce fivefold over the past five years. The reason is simple: we are driven by the passion to help secure reliable power supplies while reducing costs. The energy landscape is changing dramatically, and from our headquarters in Lahnau, we intend to continue shaping that transformation."
How Successful Companies Respond to Change
A panel discussion addressed one central question: How can Germany's industrial SMEs remain competitive in today's challenging economic environment? Dr. Vladimir von Schnurbein, Deputy Managing Director of the Association of Hessian Business Associations (VhU), outlined the seriousness of the current situation. "Germany lost 170,000 industrial jobs last year. The situation is particularly challenging in the metalworking and electrical engineering industries."
Christian Noll, Executive Director and founding member of the German Business Initiative for Energy Efficiency (DENEFF), added that Germany faces "a structural disadvantage because two-thirds of the energy we consume is imported."
Manfred Wagner, Mayor of the City of Wetzlar, encouraged participants to view today's challenges as opportunities. "Instead of focusing on the difficulties every day, we should also recognize the opportunities they create—and seize them together." According to Alexander Veidt, that requires companies willing to take action. "We don't ask whether support might come in two years. We focus on Janitza, and we act. That's what successful companies do."
Despite differing perspectives on industrial policy and regulation, the panel agreed on one key message. As Dr. von Schnurbein summarized: "Germany needs greater speed—built on trust in and responsibility for its industrial SMEs. We should simply allow them to do what they do best."
Following the discussion, Dietmar Persch, Chief Executive Officer of the Lahn-Dill Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK Lahn-Dill), congratulated Janitza on behalf of the regional business community and presented the company with a commemorative certificate recognizing its contribution to the region.
"I'm delighted to be here today. Just yesterday we presented our regional economic outlook, and the news wasn't encouraging. Janitza is a beacon that shows there is another way," Persch said, referring to the company's new Future Factory.
Christian Waldensius, Mayor of Lahnau, added: "Janitza is an excellent example of a company that sees opportunities for continued growth, even in today's challenging environment."
The anniversary concluded with an evening celebration at Buderus Arena in Wetzlar, where employees, customers, and partners came together to celebrate the company's 40-year success.
