Hydroelectric power plants

Hydroelectric power plants use the potential energy of water and convert it into mechanical or electrical energy. Hydropower can reliably supply large quantities of electrical energy. This enables constant and predictable electricity generation, which contributes significantly to the stability of the electricity grid and can effectively balance out fluctuations in electricity demand.

Monitor energy generation

Continuous monitoring and control of various systems required to generate electrical energy (including pumps, generators and control circuits) serves to maintain and continuously optimize trouble-free operation.

All operating equipment in the switchgear is being monitored, whereby comprehensive monitoring of all process steps is of crucial importance. In addition, internal consumption is captured to ensure a holistic recording of the operating processes.

Ensure power quality

The quality of the energy generated is typically measured in accordance with EN 50160 at the point of transfer to the public power grid. All power quality parameters, such as harmonics, flicker or transients, must be detected and recorded with high precision. In the event of an emergency, this serves as court-proof documentation.By continuously monitoring and analyzing the measured parameters, operators can identify potential problems in generation at an early stage and take measures to improve the power quality in order to ensure reliable and efficient operation of the power plant and compliance with the EN 50160 standard. RCM measurement is evitable for the safe operation of pumps and turbines.
