UMG 511 - Class A Certification according IEC 61000-4-30
30.01.2015
Janitza gets the official certificate for the Class A conformity according the standard IEC 61000-4-30:
This certificate summarizes the results of the PSL IEC 61000-4-30 Power Quality Measurement Methods Compliance Report, and testifies the compliance of our UMG 511 in all aspects!
What stands Class A for?
61000-4-30 is an IEC standard that defines the correct measuring algorithms for power quality instruments. This standard ensures that different PQ instruments use the same definitions, and measurement techniques, for various power quality parameters: sags/dips, swells, frequency, harmonics, flicker, etc. Class A Instruments that meet Class A performance requirements of this standard will, when connected to the same signals, produce the same results. Class A instruments must meet the highest performance and accuracy requirements in the standard.
Why is this Class A topic so important?
- Due to legal reasons class A is almost mandatory for power utilities
- IEC61000-4-30 defines the correct measuring algorithms for power quality monitoring instruments
- Instruments that meet Class A performance, when connected to the same signals, will produce the same results
- Class A instruments must meet the highest performance and accuracy requirements in the standard
- This standard ensures that different PQM instruments use the same definitions, and measurement techniques, for various power quality parameters: sags/dips, swells, frequency, harmonics, flicker, etc.…
The Class A Certificate testifies the top class ranking of the UMG 511!
